Do you like your soap?

Do you like your soap?

Several years ago, our favorite soap, Pure and Natural, began disappearing from grocery store shelves. We bought up every bar we could find for a while, and then we just couldn’t find any more. We tried countless bars of soap over several months, trying to find a soap that would clean without over-drying our skin or leaving an oily residue behind.

We couldn’t find one. So, we enlisted a nearby soap maker to make one for us!

Pure Olive Oil Soap is an all-natural hand, face and body bar made from pure olive oil and natural glycerin. It’s basically unscented, so it just smells clean, and it leaves skin clean and moisturized without oily residue.

This is now our family’s bath bar, hand soap, and facial bar. I personally like it better than any other soap I’ve ever used, including Pure and Natural. Why not try it for yourself? Purchase one 4-ounce bar for $4 or three bars for $10. To make it even better, this summer we’re throwing in an extra bar for every bar you order.

There’s no better time to try this soap. Buy one, get one free. No catch. No limit. No coupon needed. Stock up for yourself, or get some for friends and share the goodness!

BOGO offer good through August 15, 2017, while supplies last.

P. S. We’ve had some people with oily skin tell us they’re not interested in a soap made from olive oil. I know it’s hard to believe, but it really isn’t oily! If you have oily skin and you want to try it risk-free, email us. Let us know that you have oily skin and you want to put the Pure Olive Oil Soap to the test.  Place your order. Use the soap daily for 1 week. If you aren’t convinced that the soap cleanses without making your skin more oily, let us know and you’ll receive a full refund. You must email us before placing your order to take advantage of the refund offer. But I’m pretty sure you won’t be asking for a refund!

Pure Olive Oil Soap

Smith Family Resources Pure Olive Oil Soap

“I LOVE SFR’s Pure Olive Oil Soap.  I haven’t been using any kind of soap on my face because of my eczema and rosacea.  I liked the way the soap made my skin feel and look so I decided to try it on my face.  It worked wonderful!!!  I have VERY dry skin and all soaps have left my skin with the white scaly stuff on top of it.  Not with this soap.  My skin is so smooth and my eczema hasn’t acted up.  I would highly recommend the olive oil soap especially if you have dry skin.” – SFR customer, Facebook review

But you don’t have dry skin, you say?  If you think you can’t use olive oil soap on oily skin, think again!  Our Pure Olive Oil Soap moisturizes without leaving the skin feeling oily.  We even recommend this soap for the treatment and prevention of acne.

Here’s a risk-free way to find out for yourself:  Email us and let us know that you have oily skin and you want to put the Pure Olive Oil Soap on trial.  Place your order.  Use the soap daily for 1 week.  If you aren’t convinced that the soap cleanses without making your skin more oily, let us know and you’ll receive a full refund.

This is our family’s bath bar, hand soap, and facial bar.  I personally like it better than any other soap I’ve ever used.  Why not try it for yourself?  Purchase one 4-ounce bar for $4 or three bars for $10.  It’s a small investment for a big return:  clean skin without oily residue.

Where to Start?

Where to startI’ve been asked several times lately where to start with vitamins and supplements and just generally being more healthy.  As I’ve said many times before, I’m not a doctor or a natural health expert.  I’m just passing on the things I’ve learned and recommending some products that have helped my family.

Sometimes I get excited about something I’ve learned and my gush comes across sounding like, “You really ought to try this!”  But what I really mean is, you really ought to read about this and see if you think this will be good for you or your family.

So, where to start?  The first thing to do is to check your daily water intake.  If you’re not already drinking half your body weight in ounces of water every single day–more if you’re exercising or working outside–start now.  If you weigh 120 pounds, drink at least 60 ounces of water every day.  Just rehydrating your body can do wonders for your overall health.  How cool is that?  You don’t have to order anything to get started!  Click here to read more about the benefits of drinking water.

If your diet is providing all the essential vitamins and minerals needed for good health, great!  But, if it’s not, consider taking a multivitaminBeeyoutiful provides a multivitamin for every member of the family:  SuperMom, SuperLady, SuperDad and SuperKids.  You can click on the links to read about each one, or you can click here to see all our vitamins on one page.

If you have specific health interests, search this blog and others you trust.  Read, read, read.  Talk with your health care provider and make informed decisions before you add supplements to your health regimen.

There are ten products, some of which have already been mentioned, featured in the picture at the top of this post.  You can click on the links below to read more about each one and to decide if one or more of these might be a part of your own getting started.

Where to start

You’re missing out!

IMG_2937If you haven’t tried our moisturizer and olive oil soap, I really think you’re missing out.  I know that sounds a bit strong, but I really do think that!

Before we started making our own moisturizer, we looked high and low for a moisturizer that moisturized dry skin without being overly fragrant and without breaking the bank!  We just couldn’t find one that measured up.  We make ours from a paraben-free lotion base (we’ll be happy to send the full ingredient list to anyone who asks for it) with vitamin E oil and Beeyoutiful’s Almond Essential Oil added.  It’s basically unscented which makes it very popular with the guys and with anyone who’s sensitive to strong smells.  And it works!  It truly does moisturize even very dry skin.

And the soap!  It’s Pure Olive Oil Soap.  That’s all.  Just olive oil and natural glycerin.  It, too, is basically unscented, and it cleans without leaving any oil residue and without over-drying the skin.  This is my face bar and my body bar, and it’s also our family hand soap.  At $4 per bar (or $10 for 3 bars), you won’t find a comparable olive oil bar at such a good price.

We combine this awesome moisturizer with this pure soap into one beautiful gift set in a golden organza bag and make it available for only $10.  Don’t you know someone whose face would light up at the sight of one of these?

IMG_2932IMG_2933Have you bought your thank-you gifts for teachers yet?  Do you need something special to show appreciation to an employee, co-worker or customer?  Here’s your answer!

And don’t forget Mother’s Day!  If you’re in the Helena area, it’s not too late.  Call or email to arrange for pick-up or delivery.  We can’t guarantee delivery by Mother’s Day if you order online, but we can try!  We’ll ship your gifts sets the same day your order is placed.  Click on any of the pics in this post to order yours today!

Acne

Acne – We all know it when we see it, and we don’t like it!  What causes it?  And is there anything we can do about it?

Here’s a medical/scientific explanation from the Mayo Clinic:

“Acne occurs when the hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells.  Hair follicles are connected to sebaceous glands.  These glands secrete an oily substance known as sebum to lubricate your hair and skin.  Sebum normally travels up along the hair shafts and then out through the openings of the hair follicles onto the surface of your skin.  When your body produces an excess amount of sebum and dead skin cells, the two can build up in the hair follicles and form together as a soft plug, creating an environment where bacteria can thrive.

“This plug may cause the follicle wall to bulge and produce a whitehead.  Or, the plug may be open to the surface and may darken, causing a blackhead.  Pimples are raised red spots with a white center that develop when blocked hair follicles become inflamed or infected.  Blockages and inflammation that develop deep inside hair follicles produce lumps beneath the surface of your skin called cysts.  Other pores in your skin, which are the openings of the sweat glands onto your skin, aren’t normally involved in acne.”

Now here’s a non-medical/non-scientific response to the problem:

The simple solution is to keep the skin so clean that no follicle can become plugged with oil. Realizing that many factors contribute to the oiliness of one’s skin, some people will have acne no matter how clean they are.  This post is not intended to make anyone feel that their face-washing (or lack thereof) is to blame for their acne!  Still, keeping the face clean and free of oil is a good place to start. If you don’t already have a regimen for face-washing, consider this…

Milk & Honey Facial Bar (web) soap c

Splash your face with warm-hot water.  The warm/hot water will cause the pores to open.  Lather Beeyoutiful’s Milk and Honey Facial Bar or SFR’s Pure Olive Oil Soap in warm, clean hands.  Apply the lather generously to the entire face, especially oily areas, being careful to avoid the eyes.  The facial bar lather will clean away the excess oil.  Then splash your face clean with cold water. The cold water will cause the pores to close.   For best results, do this twice a day, preferably at the beginning of the day and again at the end of the day.

Note:  It is very important to keep clean skin moisturized.  Over-washing can actually cause more acne.  More about that in an upcoming post…
